Pillow Talk: The Different Types of Pillows You Need

Go walk down the bedding aisle in Target and you’ll find there are as many different types of pillows as there are people who sleep on them! Knowing which one to use can help you sleep better, but that’s only half the battle.

Obviously, I recommend The Ultimate Pillow because of its revolutionary design — it was created to enhance sleep. But even if you’re already sleeping on the best pillow, I recommend alternating between two pillows occasionally to get the better, deeper, and more restorative sleep.

Why, you ask?

Well, as many of us know, it’s almost impossible to find a pillow that you really like that will last forever. Plus, many people have difficulty finding one pillow that meets all of their needs. This becomes even more apparent when you think about how our needs change over time.

For example, having a single pair of shoes (unheard of for 99% of women on the planet) does not work well for most people. Because your shoes tend to wear out faster and they become more uncomfortable quickly with wear and tear, it’s a good idea to alternate between a couple of pairs of shoes to improve foot comfort and to extend the life of your shoes. Many women would argue that it’s best to alternate between at least a dozen pair of shoes!

Similarly, it’s a smart idea to alternate between a couple of different types of pillows. In doing so, you not only extend the life of your pillows and increase the time they will provide optimal support and comfort, but you also increase your head and neck comfort and enhance your sleep quality for a longer period of time.

This is an area of sleep health that has not been discussed before, so I look forward to further discussion and research in this area. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, too! We can definitely foster an interesting discussion on this new topic. What do you think?

Here’s to a good night’s sleep!

Central apnea vs. Obstructive sleep apnea

Central sleep apnea occurs because your brain doesn't send proper signals to the muscles that control your breathing. This condition is different from obstructive sleep apnea, in which you can't breathe normally because of upper airway obstruction.
